We are moving from our current location at Kerria Plaza to Water Tower Centre at 612 Nolana, Suite 540. Our telephone number, (956)994-9732 will remain the same.

The office will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 26 through Monday, Feb. 1 to make the move. We will re-open at our new location at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2.

New Procedure for Intakes

Intakes will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the following days and times:

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. Call the office at (956) 994-9732 for your appointment.

NEW MAKE-UP POLICY
(Tuesday, April 17, 2007)
Beginning with the 2007 Summer Institute, persons who miss classes will be allowed to make-up missed classes free of any additional charges IF they are made up during the NEXT scheduled Institute. If classes are NOT made up during the next scheduled Institute, a $50.00 fee will charged for each three hours of class.

Test Registration Procedure
(Thursday, September 7, 2006)
1. Log on to the testing website (www.texes.ets.org)in using your username and password.
2 You will see the message that you are not registered for a test; click on "Register" and continue with your selection. Remember to click the "Submit" button for each box in the registration procedure.

How to Apply for Your Probationary Certificate
(Thursday, June 9, 2005)
Ø Go to www.sbec.state.tx.us
Ø Log on to your account
Ø From menu on the left of screen, click Applications
Ø Click on Probationary Certificate
Ø Click on Apply for Certification
Ø Answer the yes / no questions. Where it says, ‘I request to be recommended by this Entity’, select – ACT Rio Grande Valley (Alternative Program) from the drop down menu. Under ‘subject applying for’, type in the certification area that is on your approval letter from ACT and that matches what you were hired to teach
Ø Click Apply – You will have two fingerprint options. Please select the FAST Pass to use the Live Scan (instead of the fingerprint card.
Ø Select the box to pay for the Probationary Certificate.
Ø On the next screen, check the two boxes to pay for both the certificate and the fingerprinting process.
Ø Complete the payment page and print a copy of your receipt.
Ø Log out and go to your email account Inbox. You should have emailed instructions on how to set up an appointment to have your fingerprints scanned.
